Hello, I’m Patricia Costa
Hello, I’m Patricia Costa, founder of Bienvenue à Rennes, a French exchange and travel agency born from my desire to share with others the incredible place I now call home.
I believe the best way to learn (and truly retain) a language is when we integrate it into our interests and daily life. Traveling and living in another country is the perfect way to combine learning and enjoyment.
I say this from personal experience: I am fluent in three languages (English, French, and Spanish), but it wasn’t just through traditional classes that I achieved this level. I learned by diving into the culture, speaking (and making mistakes) with locals and students from all over the world.
My International journey
My journey with exchange programs began 15 years ago, when I took part in a volunteer program on a farm in South Africa. That experience was transformative and awakened in me the desire to explore even more of the world. Back in Brazil, I began preparing financially for a long-term exchange program.
In 2016, I went to Ireland with the plan to spend eight months studying English and working. That experience left a deep mark on me: the culture, the contact with locals and international students gave me a whole new perspective on the world. Living abroad requires resilience, responsibility, and adaptability. It’s not always easy, but it is profoundly transformative and liberating, allowing us to break free from prejudices, limiting beliefs, and insecurities.
In Ireland, I went through many different experiences: I worked as a nanny, caregiver, cleaner, and communication analyst. Each challenge was intense and full of lessons.
From Ireland to France
During a trip across Europe, while still living in Ireland, I visited Paris and immediately fell in love with French culture and the language. After three years in Ireland, I decided to move to Rennes to pursue a master’s degree. Here, I went through different stages: from student to intern and, eventually, I landed a job in my field at a major French company.
As I welcomed friends and family and traveled with them through the region, I realized just how much Rennes has to offer. That’s when the idea of creating similar experiences for a wider audience was born.
My goal
My mission is to give students and travelers the opportunity to explore this world of learning, Celtic mysteries, and cultural exchange.
I invite you to discover my “home” and explore the beauty and stories that I so deeply love to share.
